Widowed Persons Welcome!!!

Greater Columbia Widowed Persons Organization is NOT a grief therapy group.  It does, however, provide an opportunity for widowed persons to come together, make new friends, and share conversations that remember our lost spouses while finding a new beginning in life.

Membership is FREE.  Gatherings consist of dining out, cruises, museum tours, and entertainment outings.  Our GC-WPO is open to the entire community.  For information and/or to be added to our mailing list contact Allen Cunningham at ACunningham@stei.com or call us at (803) 732-2211.

Mission Statement

The purpose of the Greater Columbia Widowed Persons Organization is to provide support, understanding, compassion and companionship to those persons who have lost a spouse through death. The death of a spouse is one of life’s most traumatic events; an event that can best be understood by those who share this unique journey.

We believe, however, that out of despair can come hope, out of sadness can come joy, and out of grief can come growth. We further believe that the finest way to honor our lost loved ones is by reaffirming our own lives.

To that purpose we offer our talents, our time and our love to each other.
